White Sox To Sign Gio Gonzalez  —  The White Sox are in agreement with left-hander Gio Gonzalez, MLB Network's Jon Heyman tweets.  Reporter Robert Murray (Twitter link) was the first to break the news that Gonzalez and the Sox were nearing a contract.  Gonzalez is represented by CAA Sports.

Angels To Sign Julio Teheran  —  The Angels and right-hander Julio Teheran have agreed to a one-year contract, ESPN.com's Jeff Passan reports (Twitter link).  Teheran will earn $9MM in the deal, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal (via Twitter) reports.  Teheran is represented by the Wasserman agency.

Joe Smith, Astros agree to $8 million, 2-year contract  —  HOUSTON — Reliever Joe Smith and the Houston Astros have agreed to an $8 million, two-year contract.  —  The 35-year-old Smith spent the last two seasons with the Astros and is 6-1 with a 3.06 ERA in 84 appearances for Houston.
