For several Cardinals, spring has finally sprung — in the regular season  —  For the entirety of spring training, Greg Holland didn't have a clubhouse to share, teammates to meet, a uniform to button, or a game to attend, so he did what he could to create competition against hitters who also didn't have something he recognized.

Tigers may be minus Cabrera yet again vs. Rays  —  DETROIT — The Tigers hope slugger Miguel Cabrera can return to the lineup Tuesday night but a Wednesday afternoon comeback seems more likely.  —  Cabrera was taken out of Sunday's game in the fifth inning with left biceps spasms, which he reported Monday were much better.

Braves top prospect Mike Soroka recalled to start Tuesday  —  The Atlanta Braves recalled their top pitching prospect to make Tuesday night's start against the New York Mets.  —  Right-hander Mike Soroka was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.  He had been 2-0 with a 1.99 ERA in four Triple-A starts.

Smoak, Martin homer as Blue Jays hold on to beat Twins 7-5  —  MINNEAPOLIS  —  Even with Josh Donaldson missing 16 games on the disabled list, Jose Bautista gone and Kendrys Morales off to a slow start, the Toronto Blue Jays are powering up again and supplying the offense they've become used to north of the border.

Mariners back home after successful trip, face A's  —  You know your team is rolling when its No. 9 hitter hits two home runs in a game.  —  That's the case for the Seattle Mariners, who just completed a 10-day trip to Texas, Chicago and Cleveland by going 7-3 with series wins over the Rangers …
