Rangers Acquire Bryan Holaday From Tigers  —  The Rangers announced that they have acquired catcher Bryan Holaday from the Tigers in exchange for right-hander Myles Jaye and catcher Bobby Wilson.  In a related move, the Rangers have designated left-handed pitcher Sam Freeman for assignment.

Mariners Acquire Nick Vincent  —  The Marines have acquired righty Nick Vincent from the Padres, per a team announcement.  San Diego will receive a player to be named later in the swap.  MLB.com's A.J. Cassavell first reported that a deal was in the works, via Twitter.

Rays' Archer fine after being knocked down by line drive  —  PORT CHARLOTTE — RHP Chris Archer tuned up for his opening day in a Tuesday intrasquad game with four innings, 63 pitches and one big scare.  —  A line drive off the bat of C Rene Rivera knocked Archer down but not out as it deflected first off his glove then his right hip.

Tyler Collins 'in driver's seat' to make Detroit Tigers' roster  —  LAKELAND, Fla. — Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus stopped short of saying Tyler Collins has made the 25-man Opening Day roster, but he acknowledged that Collins is “in the driver's seat” after the Tigers optioned Wynton Bernard to Triple-A Toledo this morning.
