Conrad's slam helps Braves beat Marlins 10-5  —  MIAMI—Brooks Conrad's second pinch-hit grand slam of the year put the Atlanta Braves ahead in an eight-run eighth inning, and they rallied past the Florida Marlins 10-5 Saturday night.  —  Six of the runs were unearned because of two errors by third baseman Jorge Cantu.

Yanks won't include Joba in Haren deal … The Yankees have balked at including Joba Chamberlain in the proposed deal for Dan Haren, but talks are continuing with the Diamondbacks.  —  The likelihood of a deal took a hit when Arizona asked that the Yankees include Chamberlain and pay the full $33 remaining on Haren's deal.

Sheets Headed To Disabled List  —  A's pitcher Ben Sheets has re-injured his elbow, forcing him to the disabled list, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.  The hurler also says that he “might be” out for the remainder of the season (link goes to Twitter).

Tigers' Magglio Ordonez Breaks Ankle, Out 6-8 Weeks  —  It suddenly looks as though the Tigers are now in the market for a bat to put in the middle of their lineup.  —  Not even a week after losing Brandon Inge to a broken bone in his left hand the Tigers have lost Magglio Ordonez for six to eight weeks with a fractured right ankle.
