Church: “I'm the rightfielder”  —  In the wake of Sunday's comments, Church said that he talked with Jerry Manuel this morning and was assured that he is the rightfielder — no splitting time with Fernando Tatis.  Manuel approached him while Church was stretching in the outfield and brought up the stories from Sunday.

School's out for the Yankees  —  Joe Girardi just called off the workout.  The entire team and coaching staff will instead head to a local pool hall for a tournament and lunch.  —  With games starting Wednesday, Girardi decided to give his team a break and build some chemistry at the same time.
