Yanks' Girardi suspended one game  —  Skipper fined, to sit Seattle opener for Thursday outburst  —  NEW YORK — Yankees manager Joe Girardi was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Thursday night's game against the Orioles.  —  Girardi will serve his suspension on Friday night against the Mariners.

Report: Mets call up Nick Evans  —  According to the Binghamton Press, the injury-ravaged Mets have called up first baseman Nick Evans from Double-A Binghamton.  Evans was told of the move during the ninth inning of Friday night's game in Reading, Pa., and will fly to Denver this morning to join the big-league club.

Putrid is a good word for this  —  This is just a quick thought in the ninth inning of a 13-2 Seattle loss in New York.  —  I've been covering baseball for more than two decades.  —  I have never seen a team look as bad as Seattle looks now without having players that were exponentially worse than the players on the Seattle roster.
